Enjoy television?
But of course in moderation … none the less a GREAT FEAST would be NOTHING without a good show to wash it down –
Below are just a select few of our favorites we are looking forward to checking out this week, with our leftovers and all the fixins!
The WIZ!
An adaption of "The Wizard of Oz" that capture the essence of the African American experience. Dorothy is celebrating Thanksgiving with her extended family, but she doesn't seem to be thankful for much in life. Things change for her when she is caught in a snowstorm and transported to the mysterious Land of Oz, befriending characters with problems such as her own. In a nutshell it is MAGIN ON THE TUBE – the lively jazz and soul tunes that spill out with dance and energy that only an ALL STAR ensemble like this could portray will forever be a favorite
Motivated by his childhood experiences, Emmy Award-winner/actor/comedian Chris Rock narrates this very hilarious and touching story of a teenager growing up as the oldest of three children in Brooklyn, NY, in 1982. 1982 is the year that Chris turns 13. Filled with dreams of being a cool teenager, Chris moves with his family from the projects to the "Bed-Stuy: “Do or Die" neighborhood – for those of you who have ever caught an episode this makes for a plentiful backdrop with some great relation to growing up not only in the 80’s but any “Do or Die” neighborhood of your own. A family with more problems than your own, as funny as Chris Rock himself - A favorite in our household over the holidays or any other day –
Once Upon a Time (ABC)
Is a revamp of our favorite fairytales; at it's core "Once Upon a Time" is a story about hope which balances the land of fairy tales with the modern world - a great watch as the secrets and stories of Storybrooke unfold each and every week!
Reed Between The Lines
Reed between the lines follows a modern day blended family as they negate life’s ups and downs with a bit of humor . The Modern day Cosby show with the laughs, heart and endearment we can all too easily loose sight of but is at the heart of many a family when you stop to smile at the little and often crazy things.
