Thank you to The SWEAT Wellness Campaign for the opportunity to share in the day as well as the GREAT fitness/wellness activities they offered to get our neighborhood involved, SWEATING and ready to drink! ;oD

... On Saturday July 21st, the SWEAT Party health and wellness movement comes to Harlem!
In collaboration with Denny's Moe's Superstar Barbershop, K.B.L.S. Urban Community we present SWEAT 4 A Cure.
It's a family event featuring free health screenings, a 1hour fitness class from our certified SWEAT Trainers and capping off the event is our signature SWEAT Party featured alongside some of Harlem's best all natural most refreshing Lemonade around -
Kayla~Bayla's Lemonade Stand:: That’s right we are not just a social community but we actually sell some of the Coolest, All Natural FRESH FRUIT concoctions - Just like Mom use to make and maybe better!

Girl In The Machine...
We have always been very basic with the talent to do much with a little, so I don’t personally go out of my way to over design (name brands), spend ($$), or outsource my child with clothes that are clearly not age appropriate…
Once in and out of several stores I was EXTREMLY disheartened by what our society, community or someone else saw fit for our children as “Appropriate”!
Walls and walls of micro-shorts, fitted tank tops and EXTRA SKINNY jeans?!
I know you may be thinking...
“Well YOU can just overlook these things… you don’t have to purchase them?!”
My answer to that is...
“I choose not to!” –
* I choose not to allow such images into my daughter’s psyche – Her mental is worth too much!
* I choose to allow my daughter to be a product of my design and to be a child during the window the cycle of life has provided
* I choose to be a mother, sister, mentor to all young girls and daughters – and there is nothing wrong with PRIDE and being RIGHT(eous) and upholding yourself as such
* I choose to display that beauty is a state of mind that cannot be reflected by a tag or how much you pay for it!
They say ones society can be reflected by the laws, music, clothes and culture of its community…
It put me in a state that made me ponder how many people realize the state they are in and continue to follow behind blindly, with no say just constantly digesting what is given-
To all my mothers/fathers and guardians be aware of who your child is meant to be in this future
Break the cycle; if not for you then for the GIRL IN THE MACHINE!

THE SWEAT WEEKEND
The SWEAT Weekend was dedicated to the reaching in and GIVING OUT! Saturday 6/2 K.B.L.S. Adults came to the famous SWEAT PARTY to commune socially while promoting health, wellness and wellbeing as a lifestyle. The K.B.L.S. Community then gave back with K.B.L.S. Urban Reach in our 1st annual Autism Speaks Walk @ South Street Seaport. Great people, great vibes and a continued growing community - here is to all YOU DO!
